Bell Equine

Due to expansion Bell Equine is seeking an enthusiastic ambulatory vet to join our friendly and supportive clinic. You would be part of a team of 12 experienced ambulatory vets who enjoy NO OOH thanks to Equicall, with whom we work closely. Our vets regularly say how this has significantly improved their wellbeing. We are continually working hard to further improve the work life balance of our vets. We are providing regular admin blocks in their diaries, time allocated for a lunch break every day, a rota for picking up the late afternoon calls, and we have our last visit on a Friday booked at 3.30pm.

The role would suit someone wishing to continually develop in a supportive and very friendly ambulatory team. This is in addition to working alongside specialists in equine medicine, diagnostic imaging and surgery with access to excellent facilities (including MRI, CT, Scintigraphy, electrochemotherapy and over-ground scope) together with comprehensive EVN support. Whether you love all aspects of clinical work, or if you would prefer to avoid nerve blocks beyond an abaxial or just crave some itchy skin, we can adapt the job to suit your interests. We also have all the mobile equipment required to work up cases to a high level on the road when required, usually accompanied by one of our fabulous ambulatory nursing assistants.

We'd love to hear from experienced vets, and we do strongly encourage certificates but we can also offer a great opportunity to new or recent graduates, further supported by the CVS Equine New Graduate Programme.

Our purpose-built RCVS accredited Equine Veterinary Hospital has been awarded “Outstanding” in all 5 PSS Awards.

CPD (5 days per annum) is funded and there is also plenty of access to more informal internal CPD in the form of journal clubs, hospital, imaging, M+M, and grand rounds, in addition to regular ambulatory team catch ups. We also allocate regular days in the clinic to work alongside the specialists – particularly to see cases worked up that you have referred in.

Salary will be commensurate with experience with BEVA/RCVS subscriptions paid. We are situated in the heart of Kent with excellent transport links especially to London, only 45 minutes by train, or Europe by Eurostar!

We offer:
  • 5 weeks leave a year plus bank holidays, rising to 6 weeks leave a year after first 5 years of service (1 extra day per annum based on service)
  • Options to buy/sell holiday to a maximum of 7 weeks
  • CVS Equine New Graduate Programme: https://www.cvs-equine.com/careers/graduate-scheme/
  • Flexibility for full or part time available
  • Certificates encouraged
  • CVS Equine – a great network of equine clinics across the UK, with whom we all collaborate and provide internal CPD/support and share ideas from QI/Clinical and Wellbeing meetings
  • Enhanced parental leave policy
  • Company pension scheme
  • ‘Save As You Earn' (SAYE) scheme
  • Generous staff discount scheme
  • Employee Assistance Programme
  • Access to Perk Box offering Entertainment, Travel and Retail discounts
  • Access to a range of flexible benefits to suit your needs – such as subsidised gym membership, and cycle to work scheme
