Job Details

This well respected, independent group of practices based in North Somerset are looking for an enthusiastic 2+ year qualified vet to join their friendly team.

The group is made up of 4 satellite branches plus a Tier 3 Hospital, all within 15 minute drive of each other, ensuring the best of care can be given 24/7 to all their clients.

The team of 6 Vets have a fantastic set up with equipment such as ultrasound, digital X rays, laparoscopy, CT and MRI and have great clients keen for the team to work up cases properly. The Vet team are supported by a fantastic nursing team with genuine 24 hour hospitalisation facilities and supportive experienced colleagues who are always happy to help.

The team are looking for a minimum 2 years experience to compliment their current team of 3 Senior Vets, and 3 Junior / new graduate Vets. Of the 3 Senior Vets, the Clinical Director has an orthopeadic certificate, they have a vet working towards their imagining certificate and a 15 year qualified Vet with a wealth of general medicine practice.

This role can be flexible in the number of days worked but the team do need you to take a share in the current OOH rota which includes 1:8 nights, 1:8 weekends (with Monday off after) and 1:5 Saturdays (9am-5pm).
The out of hours service is not busy and telephones are manned by the onsite nursing team, its very rare that the Vet gets called out.

The team of Vets all currently split their time between branches and the hospital, carrying out consultations at branches in the morning or afternoon and carrying out surgeries at the Hospital during the rest of the day. The team feel this way of working means everyone gets a fair share of surgery and consults and ensures case continuity for you and the client..

The team are more than willing and able to support any interests their new colleague might have and will provide the necessary CPD and mentorship for this interest.
Salary is negotiable upwards of £42k, depending on experience and will be discussed at interview.
