The Role

We have an excellent opportunity for a Joint Clinical Director to join our team here at Sheriffs Highway Vets. Day to day duties would see the successful candidate overseeing the management, leadership and general running of the group with involvement in clinical work and time operating and consulting. You will also work in tandem with the Practice Manager and Business Support Manager.  

This is a full-time position, working a 4-day week with 1:6 weekends.
The salary for this role is up to £80,000 depending on experience. 

About Us

The integration of our daytime and night-time teams ensures optimal patient care and fantastic teamwork. This ethos is important to us, with frequent socials and pizza fuelled in-house CPD (both lunchtime and evening). We are a host practice for the Pet Blood Bank and work with several local charities. We are in a vibrant city location with easy access to the wonderful North East coast and countryside. Large, supportive, team with plenty of experienced clinicians. Monthly team meetings as well as evening and weekend get-togethers and social events. 

About the Team and Culture

Sheriffs Highway Veterinary Hospital is an RCVS Tier 3 Hospital in Gateshead. We have 4 branch surgeries. Our team comprises 14 FTE Vets (2 part-time), 14 RVN, 2 SVN, 1 Head Nurse. We have certificate holders in Surgery and Medicine, with several colleagues working towards advanced qualifications. We are a friendly and supportive practice with a wonderful team and great facilities and equipment including dental x-ray, advanced ultrasound, endoscopy, endosurgery, comprehensive hospital lab, and theatre facilities and labs at branch surgeries. We have our own 24-hour service, with night-time cover provided by our dedicated ECC team. 

Applicant Requirements 

Managerial experience preferred, this could be from a previous role as a Clinical Director in a small animal practice or as a Senior Veterinary Surgeon. You must be able to support and guide a full range of staff from new graduates to very experienced Vets. Visa Sponsorship available.
