The role:

Join our team at Islington Liverpool Rd as a Head Registered Veterinary Nurse!

We are seeking someone with leadership qualities, approachability, and a passion for getting the best out of people! Ideally, two years of experience although previous Head Nurse experience is not essential. 

Salary, hours, and benefits:

  • - Starting salary £32,500 per annum
  • - 40 hours per week with 1:3 half or 1:6 full weekends 
  • - £750 CPD allowance with 2-days CPD leave and in-house CPD available
  • - RCVS and VDS fees paid

Key accountabilities:

In this role, you will assist with the financial and operational performance of your practice as well as the overall team performance and engagement.

You'll take pride in the delivery of exceptional clinical quality and care, encouraging a progressive clinical culture. And, ensure Medivet policies and procedures are implemented and adhered to by all of your team. 

You'll work closely with the Lead Vet as well as our wider teams to ensure the general smooth running of your practice, from Practice Standards to Health & Safety, and ensure things such as debt is managed and controlled and any complaints are dealt with appropriately. 

As a Head Nurse and Clinical Coach, you will develop and support your direct reports, holding one to ones and providing regular feedback on their performance, as well as taking action to create a positive environment that results in stable retention for your branch. 

Branch:

Our modern, spacious, and well-equipped branch is in a lively area of North London known for its many restaurants and artistic community.

We have a friendly 3-vet team supported by 3-RVNs, PCA/SVN, and 2 Receptionists. We are active in the local community with fantastic clients, majority insured, who want the best for their pets!

The practice is well-equipped with digital and dental x-ray, ultrasound, tonometer, bronchoscope and endoscope, blood pressure machine, ECG, full lab including microscope, haematology and biochemistry analyser, bone kit as well as a full ex-lap kit including suction and diathermy.

We are a short walk from Essex Road, Angel, and Highbury & Islington Tube, and Overground Stations so there are great transport links! 

Islington Liverpool Rd feeds into our Kensington 24-Hour Hospital for all out-of-hours care, managed by our dedicated night team and where patients can be hospitalised - we also have an ambulance service to transport patients.
