The Role

Acres Vets in Airdrie has an exciting opportunity for a Clinical Director/Clinical lead vet to join their friendly and forward-thinking team in the Centre of Scotland. The successful applicant will be joining our dedicated practice, with staff who are committed to clinical excellence. This role will give you the opportunity to engage in 1st Opinion veterinary work in a beautiful part of the world! This role would be ideal for a vet who is wanting to be involved in the leadership of the practice and the development of other staff. The practice is very friendly has a great team ethic and works hard to maintain it. 

Up to £65,000 negotiable, depending on experience. Relocation package of up to £5,000. 

About Us

We are a 1st opinion small animal practice in the heart of Scotland in a busy market town. We are moving to a purpose designed facility that is twice the size next year and you would be heavily involved in the plan-ning and implementation of that. The practice is superbly located on the doorstep of an outdoor enthusiast’s playground close to both mountains and sea giving easy access to skiing, mountain biking, mountaineering, climbing and water sports. Being in the central belt of Scotland we are very close to great transport links to all major cities and airports. 

Our team are dedicated to providing an excellent level of care, to help us deliver this we have the usual facilities and equipment you would expect, and the move next year will add dedicated Dental suite, Imaging and 2 more consult rooms.

About the Team and Culture

We have 5 vets and RVN's a lust for life and passion for the clients and animals we serve. Working up to 40 hours per week across 5 days – there is flexibility on this there is no OOH responsibility with this role but there is 1:5 weekend work on a Sat AM.

Applicant Requirements 

RCVS registered with experience and proven capabilities in 1st opinion work with any specialist interest being considered. An interest in training and mentoring of other team members is necessary. 

We are prepared to be flexible and will consider someone who wants a full leadership role or someone who still needs to develop some of their skills. We are also prepared to consider part-time hours for the right candidate, but the role does need at least 3 days a week to make it work.

Acres Vet Centre is a single-site small animal practice located in Airdrie, Lanarkshire. We are expanding and are currently trying to locate a site for a new purpose-built practice. The practice is well equipped (ultrasonography, brand new digital Xray equipment, in-house laboratory including IDEXX haematology/biochemistry analysers and microscope, infusion pumps, ECG, capnography, blood pressure monitors (doppler and oscillometric), digital tonometry) and we hope to add dental Xray equipment and an endoscope to this list once we are in the new building.

Our location is very central with excellent travel links to Glasgow / Edinburgh / Stirling and plenty of local rural escapes.
