Job Details

Our independent client in Shropshire are looking for a number a Veterinary surgeons to join and expand their current team.

Located in an award-winning building in Shrewsbury this site is an exceptionally light and airy facility and makes a very pleasant environment in which to work.
Currently a team of 2.5 vets and supported by a very experienced team of qualified veterinary nurses the team are looking for small animal vets with a minimum of 2 years experience to join them on a full time basis. 

Shrewsbury is one of the best-equipped surgeries in this group of 10 practices. Among other things the have an endoscope, full ultrasound and X-rays, full in-house labs including coagulation machines, and support from an extremely experienced orthopaedic surgeon who carries out advanced and complex procedures, including hip replacements. Clients often travel large distances to use these services.

This client offers a real team environment and positively promotes cross function discussions about cases to ensure the ery best service for their clients.  They are also part of a larger network so have cert holders accros most small animal disciplines who are available to offer support and advice if needed.

You will need to be a confident and pro-active veterinary surgeon and be competent to work sole charge on a weekend until the team grows. The weekend rota is currently 1:4 full weekends and will move to 1:8 once fully staffed.

The team can be flexible with working hours and have 3 different shift patterns available as follows:
9.30am - 7pm 
7.30am-5.30pm 
9am - 7pm 

There are no OOH's with this role as the practice have their own dedicated Night Team. 

The team are supportive of any areas which their vets might want to specialise in, the visiting orthopeadic vet would be more than happy to share his knowledge and the team could arrange for you to spend a couple of half days each week seeing these procedures. 


Salary is dependent upon experience and will be discussed at interview.
