Job Details

The Role

We are seeking a First opinion Clinical Director to join our team at Vale Vets and Referrals.

The duties for this role include clinical work as part of a first opinion team 75% (consults, clinical work ups, ops, inpatients etc). Non-clinical work 25%. 

You will be required to conduct team meetings, CD meetings, senior management meetings, finance meetings and Nurse meetings. 

You will be responsible for day-to-day management of the first opinion team and services in combination with General manager. You will oversee quality improvement of 1st opinion customer service along-
side reception team leader. You will also be working closely and in partnership with the referral department and referral CD's to deliver overall financial and clinical performance of the business.

The rota is 4 days per week, 40 hours, no official OOH as described but expect to manage, oversee and step into rota issues and help where appropriate.

The salary will be up to £80,000.

About the Team and Culture

We have a supportive and developmental culture throughout the practice which is based around our values of Care, Trust and Support. 

Our team is made up of 9 small animal vets, 13 referral vets, 35 nurses/hospital assistants and 20 support staff. We have certificate holders in internal medicine in the first opinion team supported by diplomates in soft tissue surgery, internal medicine, and advanced practitioners in multiple disciplines

We have many experienced clinicians in both the first opinion team and the referral team. As a practice we pride ourselves in developing our clinicians and staff to further themselves in their clinical and non-clinical careers to whatever limits they may want to achieve.

This means that Vale Vets and Referrals stand out as one of the most advanced and forward thinking first opinion practices in the Southwest and Midlands. 

The candidate will be an integral part to Vale Vets and Referrals culture, management, and dynamism.

The first opinion service is tied closely to the local community, providing charity work through the local cat and dog rescue centre - Cotswold Dog and Cat Home.

We are looking for an experienced small animal clinician with a history
