At Vetfinders we are helping Clanrye Vets in Newry find their next hire.

This family run practice is looking for a small or large animal vet, this is a flexible role without any equine requirements. There is a good mix of small animal and farm (beef, suckler, dairy and sheep) clients. Their small animal department is an expanding part of the business, so there is a regular variety of clients.

The practice has 9 vets across 2 clinics, with a great support team which includes 3 qualified nurses

They have recently refurbished their X-ray and small animal laboratory facilities. The clinics are in a very picturesque area close to the Mourne Mountains, Belfast is 40 mins away and Dublin only 60 mins

The practice aspires to create an environment that offers clinical excellence combined with first rate patient care whilst offering excellent support in a friendly working environment

This could suit a very competent 1st year graduate, but a min of 2 to 5 years’ experience is preferred. They have 2 RCVS registered graduate advisors available to assist in mentoring

Benefits

  • RCVS & VDS membership fees paid.
  • CPD.
  • Employee discounts.
  • 25 days holiday
  • Pension scheme
  • Practice vehicle provided
  • Accommodation available if required

The Practice

Clanrye Veterinary Clinic was first established in 2000 at the Old Ardmore Hotel Gate Lodge on the Belfast Road in Newry. It is a family-owned practice with the 2nd brother joining the clinic after two years of working in mixed practice in Fermanagh. The brothers are from Killowen near Rostrevor, being locals gives the brothers an edge in ensuring clients, be they large scale milk producers or a child with a precious first pet, get the reassuring service they need.

Our team of nine vets across two clinics, backed by the equally committed veterinary nurses and receptionists, is an amazingly positive blend of experience, enthusiasm and expertise in the latest animal health innovations. No two days are the same and we endeavour to provide the best service and care to our clients and patients!

Company

VetFinders is a recruitment business with a social mission at its heart. We are more than a recruitment business whose only aim is to make a profit, this isn’t us! We aim to make a profit of course we do but we work with a number of charities  giving back to the industry we love. Giving is at the heart of our business, we work with the local college Askham Bryan sponsoring two nurse students through their studies, have worked  with Street Vet advertising their roles for free, donate to a local charity helping disabled and life limiting children with animal therapy and work with Blue Cross. When we place candidates in a new role we donate enough to pay for a Blue Cross nurse for the day. ‘A dream job for you, a Blue Cross Nurse paid for too.
