South Wales Equine Vets

South Wales Equine Vets are an equine practice covering the South & West Wales.

We are looking for an equine vet to join the team at our Cardiff Branch, near Cowbridge. You would be part of a young and social team who make regular trips to the pub after work. The position is mainly ambulatory based, however we do have an ever expanding clinic to allow you to work up cases fully. Ideally we would like to find an experienced vet to join the team, but we would consider a keen and enthusiastic new graduate. We are looking for a team player who has excellent communication skills and wants to build their own client base whilst developing their professional skills.

Our clients will range from family pony owners to competition riders with everything in-between, you will have use of the best mobile equipment to assist with further investigations and work ups.

Such as;
  • Mobile DR
  • Ultrasound
  • Endoscope & Gastroscope
  • Motorised dental equipment.
  • Advanced dentistry equipment
  • Extracorporeal Shockwave unit
  • Laser – Sarcoid Laser Surgery

For those cases requiring an extra pair of hands we have vet support / vet techs to assist.

You will have the assistance of the other vets within the clinic for those tricky or complex cases. We also work closely with the B&W Equine Hospital in Gloucester who offer a fully equipped equine hospital supported by Surgical, Medical, Imaging and Sports Medicine Diplomats with a hassle free referral process for those cases requiring further interventions and the use of advanced imaging modalities.

We encourage CPD both external and internal and are committed to continuing to improve the skillset of our vets. We encourage you to work up your own cases, so if there is something you need extra support with then this is available. Our aim is to assist our vets to become the well-rounded, experienced vets of the future. The hours are full time, working a 4 day week with a 1; 6 OOH Weekend rota. You will receive 5 weeks annual leave pro rata'd for part time staff.

Whilst the vacancy is a Full-time position, Part-time or Job share may be considered.

A competitive package is available for the right candidate, including: CPD allowance; VDS cover and a company pool car. As part of a wider CVS group, further benefits such as shares schemes, Gym flex and further discounts for personal animal care also available.

For further information or an informal chat please contact either Duncan Graham (Clinical Director) 07393 769729 or Ryan Hughes (Practice Manager) 01443 2255010
