About us

Here at Woodward Vets, we have an outstanding, purpose-built, modern practice. We are well equipped with a brand-new x-ray machine, brand new ultrasound machine, an extensive in-house lab, ECG, Dental x-ray and more. We are a progressive site and are proud to have been awarded gold - ISFM cat-friendly clinic and recently achieved our RCVS PSS accreditation.

We have a dedicated team of 9 Vet Surgeons and 16 Veterinary Nurses. We are also supported by a fantastic front of house team. In our vet team, we have a cardiology certificate holder and we welcome all professional interests and are keen to support certificates where possible. You will be warmly welcomed into our team and will be joining a group of veterinary professionals who all work hard, enjoy a laugh and support each other daily. We genuinely enjoy our working days together and sometimes attend socialising events. 

Along with an enthusiastic and fun team with high clinical standards, our aim is to provide the best possible medical and surgical veterinary care for our patients in a pleasant, friendly environment. 

Woodward Veterinary Practice have a large client base throughout the whole of North West Leicestershire. We are lucky to be based in Ashby de la Zouch which is a picturesque market town surrounded by lots of countrysides and is in a fantastic location with lots of local cities, within easy reach. East Midlands airport is also just 15 minutes drive away.

Your role and responsibilities

Due to our continued success, we are looking to welcome an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to join our Ashby de la Zouch practice. 

Your role at Woodward vets will be an exciting and varied one. You will have a mixture of in-patient care time, surgery, and consultations each day. You will care for predominantly small animals, and you will have the opportunity for case continuity and to build great rapport with our lovely clients.

  • 40 hour working week 
  • 4 or 5-day working week 
  • 1 in 5 full weekends with time back in lieu (with a long weekend off the following week) 
  • No OOH’s duties, although at times there may be inpatient checks required. 

We are keen to support specific interests especially is you are working towards or currently hold a certificate relevant to small animal primary care practice.

The ideal candidate for the role will be confident with all aspects of primary care practice and be keen to develop your career.
