The Role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Theatre Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our team at Donnington Grove Vets. The main responsibility of this role is to manage all aspects of Small Animal Theatre practice and ensure the smooth day to day running, excellent infection control and positive outcomes for patients.

Salary

The salary for this role is up to £24,351 depending on experience 

About Us

Donnington Grove is a busy first opinion Practice based near the West Berkshire countryside. Our facilities include a fully functioning aseptic theatre equipped with Diathermy, Endoscopy, Orthopaedic kits, and implants.

About the Team and Culture

We currently have 15 vets and 31 Nurses including Nursing Assistants. We have 5 Certificates holders in Surgery, Medicine, Ophthalmology, General Practice and Diagnostic imaging.

Applicant Requirements 

The successful candidate will be a Registered Veterinary Nurse and have been qualified for at least one year and have previous experience in a busy first opinion theatre. They must have excellent communication and organisational skills.

Established for over 100 years, we are one of the largest first opinion practices in the UK.

From well equipped clinics in Newbury, Thatcham and Tadley, our experienced small animal team cares for cats, dogs, rabbits, birds and other small furry pets.

At Donnington Grove (Newbury) we hold RCVS Hospital Accreditation and are open 24 hours a day, 365 days of the year. 

Our main Hospital is based in Newbury, which is a thriving town in West Berkshire, with many restaurants and only a 45-minute train journey to London Paddington. Situated on the edge of the North Wessex Downs AONB, it also provides beautiful local countryside for long walks with our canine friends. The Branches at Tadley and Thatcham are both located within a short distance of Newbury and are fully equipped for surgical procedures and digital diagnostic imaging.

We have a friendly and supportive team which is made up of 17 Vets and 30 Nurses (including Nursing Assistants). Amongst the team we have certificate holders in medicine, ophthalmology, imaging, and surgery. We encourage our team with further education and support any special interests they have.
