The Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Veterinary Surgeon to join our team. The role at Bath Cats and Dogs Home (RSPCA rehoming centre) involves managing the team of nurses, ensuring the Vet suite runs smoothly, liaising with the examinations of new admissions, operating, consulting, and giving advice to kennel assistants.

This role is either full-time or part-time. The rota includes working 3 days a week on a Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday from 9:00am-4:30pm. There will be an option to work 1 day per week and on weekends at our Rosemary Lodge Hospital. There are no out-of-hours shifts.

About Us

Bath Cats and Dogs Home is a busy rehoming centre, with an experienced clinical team. Rosemary Lodge is a long-established Tier 3 Hospital with onsite MRI, CT, digital xray and in-house diagnostics. Our
6 satellite branches vary in size and facilities but all have established teams and friendly clients.

The role at Bath Cats and Dogs Home is a sole charge role, working alongside 2 Registered Veterinary Nurse's. Across Bath Vets, we have a team of 140 employees. Our first opinion team includes certificate holders in medicine, imaging, and ECC. Bath Vet Referrals is also based at Rosemary Lodge Hospital, the team includes medicine clinicians and surgeons. We pride ourselves on our friendly working environment and our focus on staff well-being. Our staff are actively encouraged to develop their skills and knowledge via in-house learning and CPD. The successful candidate will share our philosophy of practising to the highest clinical standards.

Applicant Requirements

Experience of working sole charge is essential and experience of managing a team and charity work would be an advantage.
