The Role

Here at Lamond Vets in Livingston we have a fantastic opportunity for a joint Clinical Director to join our wonderful team. This is a full-time or
part time position, working a 20–40-hour week and no out of hours. Generally, no weekends though it may be required occasionally to cover the need of the business. This role involves working alongside our Practice Manager and existing Clinical Directors overseeing the general running of the practice along with a substantial amount of clinical work time operating and consulting.

You will be responsible for practice leadership and for the efficient and profitable provision of clinical care, liaising with IVC Evidensia central support and networking with your fellow Clinical Directors and the wider community. Mentoring and coaching of less experienced veterinary surgeons is also an important part of this role. For the right candidate, this could be the perfect opportunity to mould our team to support your own vision of the practice.

The salary for this role will be up to £75,000 per annum depending on experience and hours.

About Us

Lamond Vets is in the heart of Scotland and has the reputation of being
a busy friendly and efficient practice that has served the people of Livingston for many years, accruing many longstanding clients and members of staff. We have created a pleasant working environment
for both employees and clients alike.

We are a well-equipped Small Animal practice with all the modern kit and have just been through a major refurbishment of practically all of the practice. We have in house lab, 2 operating theatres, a separate Dental suit with 2 dental stations, and Radiography suite and a very good ultrasound machine with colour doppler and digital radiography.

About the Team and Culture

We are an 8 Veterinary Surgeon team, but we are hoping expand and
are supported by our veterinary nurse team of 11 nurses and 3 VCAs.
We have 6 Veterinary Receptionists and our superb Practice Manager.

There are many local Specialists to which we refer cases when appropriate. We support several local charities including SSPCA and Dogs Trust.

Applicant Requirements

We are looking for someone who will continue making the practice a great place to work, as this is just as important to us as clinical skills. Ideally, we would like the candidate to have some management or Clinical Director experience, but the role may suit an experienced Veterinary Surgeon looking to step up and learn the skills needed for a Clinical Director. You must be confident in clinical matters encountered in a small animal general practice and can lead and support the team, both clinical and non-clinical, and still have the enthusiasm and energy to help the practice and staff progress and flourish.
