Veterinary Surgeon - No OOH - Welcome Bonus - Relocation Packages

The Role

Grove lodge have an opportunity available for a Veterinary Surgeon to join them on a fixed term contract beginning May 2022 for a period of 3 months. We expect our Veterinary Surgeons to make animal welfare the first consideration when providing the most appropriate attention to the animals in their care.

Our ideal candidate will have knowledge of animal physiology, nutrition, and medicine with practical skills to diagnose illness, prescribe medicines, and perform imaging tests, laboratory tests and surgery. We like to keep every day as varied as possible with the appropriate mix of duties, working in accordance with the IVC Vet Charter.

The role is full time, you will be required to work 42 hours per week, over 4 to 5 days including every other Saturday morning. Shifts are between 8.30am and 6.30pm, in line with business needs. T

here are no out-of-hours or Bank Holiday shifts included. However, we are opening to considering part time patterns and do have flexible working agreements on offer for those who have more specific needs.

Salary

Salary for the role is up to £50,000 per annum depending on experience. There is also a welcome bonus of £6,000 as well as the funding of certifications with training agreements.

Grove Lodge Veterinary Group was founded in 1958 and is now part of a larger group; IVC Evidensia. We have approximately 100 team members across 7 sites.

Portslade is one of our satellite branches, where we see lots of our long-standing patients for consultations. We have a small, welcoming team who pride themselves on their exemplary reputation within the local community

Portslade is situated close to the sea, on the South Coast, with the stunning South Downs as a backdrop. There is a train station located less than 25 minutes' walk away, with links to Brighton, London, and Gatwick.

Applicant Requirements

We require you to be RCVS registered, have experience of small animal and or mixed practice work, and have the ability to demonstrate a good understanding of the importance of preventative health plans. We ask that you have experience working in an empathetic customer-focused environment and have an element of flexibility. You will need to be an excellent communicator, paired with being a brilliant listener.

You will have the ability to prioritise, delegate, and make challenging decisions and be an avid team player and support your colleagues. 

We need a problem-solving Vet who can effectively manage their time. We need you to be able to remain calm under pressure yet be assertive and patient when required. We ask you to have a positive can-do attitude and be passionate about your work. A driving license is preferred but not essential.
