The Role

Here at Rowe Veterinary Group, we are looking for a Veterinary Surgeon who will thrive in a bustling hospital environment. We appreciate that work-life balance is a priority for our staff and over the last few years, we have been proactive in creating a positive, supportive workplace. We have made several changes to ensure vets get their lunch breaks and leave on time. These include employing twilight Vets, removing the last consult of the day, structuring the rota to allow for admin time, and driving a culture that challenges those who stay beyond their finish time rather than championing it.

You will enjoy a varied rota of consulting shifts and operating and in-patient hospital shifts. The rota includes working a 4-day week (with some early finishes) and participating in our weekend day rota.

The salary for this role is up to £60,000 depending on experience.

About Us

Our team has a big focus on coaching and development in the hospital and has Vets with further training in this area. We encourage personal development (including funding certificates where desired) and are happy to spend time training our Vets in hospital work, ultrasound, surgery, dentistry, or whatever you have an interest in. We encourage a collaborative working culture where we can share ideas and support each other. Several of our Vets have Certificates in medicine and surgery, whilst others are currently working towards them. We enjoy supporting our new graduates and have EMS students on a regular basis enabling us to give back to the veterinary community.

Our tier 3 RCVS accredited hospital provides excellent facilities including digital x-ray, dental x-ray, CT, MRI, ultrasound, endoscopy, and more. We pride ourselves on clinical excellence whilst also providing a patient-appropriate compassionate service for our clients. You will join a well-established team of 10 other Veterinary Surgeons, a strong, experienced Nursing team, and a fantastic support team.

As part of the team at Rowe, you will benefit from access to our referral department which offers services in Medicine, Ophthalmology, Surgery, Oncology, Imaging, Neurology, and Dentistry. We also have our own dedicated and experienced out-of-hours team providing continuity for patients.
