We are a 100% independent, truly mixed practice in the beautiful eastern highlands of Scotland.
We are committed to a good work life balance, and we are ideally suited to a new or recent graduate with lots of friendly support, 2 VetGDP advisors and a team of qualified nurses.
Our two-site practice in Aberdeenshire is centred on our main clinic in
the historic town of Alford (home of the Aberdeen Angus), 35mins from Aberdeen airport, and with easy access to Aberdeen city. We also have a consulting practice in the scenic tourist hotspot of Ballater in the Royal Deeside region of Cairngorms national park.
We are proud to offer our own out of hours service for our clients and our on-calls generally aren’t too busy, but with normal seasonal variation. The on-call rota is 1:4 which is balanced with time off in leu during the week – this effectively works out as a 4 week rolling rota of one 3 day, one 5 day and two 4 day working weeks.
We will formally provide back up on-call support on call for as long
as you want it with a minimum of 6 months, but informally we are a collaborative team and are always happy to back each other up as needed.
Sole charge consulting is rarely needed and will only be asked of you once you feel truly ready for it.
Our days generally consist of 2hrs small animal consulting (15min appointments) 9-11am, on average 2-3 small animal surgeries/ procedures +/- approximately 2-3 large animal calls through the day divided fairly across the team, followed by 2hrs small animal consulting 4-6pm.
To formally apply please email your CV for the attention of Neil Crossling via the apply button.
