Job Details

We’re a community of passionate veterinary professionals committed to providing truly exceptional care. We’re set on building something extraordinary: creating the most forward-thinking and innovative place in the veterinary industry.  We’re always looking for people who aspire to stand out in their field, and it’s this vision and enthusiasm that forms the foundation of how we work.

Our mission to deliver progressive, around the clock care means our employees have the very best equipment and treatment options available, including in-house MRI machines and state-of-the-art operating theatres.

We provide ongoing support to our teams, both in practice and through our dedicated training centre. This empowers you to get the very best from our advanced equipment while being on your journey to veterinary excellence.

The role:

We are looking for a motivated and friendly individual with a strong passion for animal care and welfare to join us as a Registered Veterinary Nurse.

In this role you will receive full support and guidance with our in-house ‘on the job’ training program led by another qualified buddy to introduce you to Medivet.

The successful candidate will be working in our busy and newly acquired practice in Broxbourne, while providing support to our existing clinical team.

The ideal candidate will enjoy working in a busy environment and possess the confidence to pass on your expertise while adapting to our energetic and upbeat team. You will have a flexible and adaptable approach to work and be happy to get stuck in wherever needed.

The team consists of 3-4 vets, Practice Manager, Practice co-ordinator, Head Client Care Assistant, a full reception and clinical team.

Our RVN's now work on a 4 day week, working 4x 9.5 hour days inclusive of a 30 minute lunch break.

Medivet is growing rapidly and it’s an exciting time to join us - we encourage growth and development within your role as well as excellent career prospects and flexibility.

Salary and Benefits

  • Salary of £30,000 per annum
  • £750 CPD allowance, 3-days CPD leave and in-house CPD available
  • RCVS and VDS fees paid
  • 5 weeks paid annual leave
  • Exclusive company discounts and rewards
  • A friendly, supportive environment within a rewarding role

Key accountabilities:

  • Aiding in support when the branch Head Nurse is on leave.
  • Providing clinical support to our Patient Care Assistants and Students by assisting with training and clinical coaching.
  • Opening and closing branch.
  • General nursing and reception duties.
  • Take part in on-call and bank holiday shifts that are divided fairly among all team members.
  • Weekends 1 in 6 worked in Enfield (RVN)
  • Weekends 1 in 3 worked in Enfield or branch on a Saturday only (SVN)

Skills and experience:

Registered Veterinary Nurse as defined by RCVS.

The role would suit a newly qualified nurse who does not wish to step into a Head Nurse role at this time, and is looking for the challenge of a newly acquired practice. Alternatively the role would also suit someone looking to step back away from the responsibilities of being a Head Nurse and will enable the successful candidate to focus on nursing and mentoring among our dedicated teams.
