We are looking for an organised, enthusiastic RVN who is passionate about anesthesia and analgesia to join our surgical nursing team. 

Our nurses will work in discipline-specific teams. this is to ensure our nurses can develop high levels of clinical excellence in their dedicated area of interest. 

As a surgical/anesthesia nurse you will be responsible for working closely alongside our surgeons. You will be monitoring anesthetics for a wide range of interesting and challenging cases with patients ranging from ASA category 1-5 as we as an emergency and routine procedures. 

Our Surgical nursing team will assist in developing and maintaining high perioperative protocols to ensure our patients receive the best care possible. Maintaining our surgical equipment and instruments to ensure sufficient running of the theatres. Our Surgical RVNs will oversee the patient care assistants/student nurses working within their area and provide guidance and coaching. 

You will liaise with the Head Veterinary Nurses and the Veterinary Surgeons to ensure the best and most effective running of the practice. Maintain cleaning regimes within the hospital to ensure high standards are maintained throughout. 

Ensure that patient records and documentation are maintained accurately. We value our nurse's clinical professional development and you will have regular one-to-one reviews on our learning platform  - Fuse. 

Salary and hours

This role could be full or part-time. There is an equal share of the weekend working with equal time back. Part-time we could offer 9 am - 3 pm giving great flexibility with school hours. We would be happy to speak with you please email: carlie.smith@medivet.co.uk     

Full time salary up to £30,000 

RCVS, VDS, and BVNA membership paid

Medivet Gatley is a modern well-equipped 8 vet practice with a team of 7 receptionists plus an admin team enabling the RVNs to do the jobs that they are qualified to do! The practice benefits from digital x-ray and in-house blood machines, multiparameter machines for anesthetic monitoring, separate dog and cat wards, and waiting rooms.

The clinic is silver cat-friendly accredited. We have a separate dental suite and orthopedic/soft tissue theatres. The whole clinic has been recently refurbished so has a clean, warm, and welcoming feel, well worth a visit!
