A fantastic opportunity has arisen at Medivet 24 hour Dearne valley for a Night Veterinary Surgeon to join our dedicated team on a 7 nights on 14 nights off basis. Our clinic works closely with the other practices in South Yorkshire, giving you scope to share best practice and assist with complex cases. You will be fully supported by an experienced Veterinary Nurse and twilight PCA, alongside our excellent training and development opportunities, you will have a platform to thrive in an out of hours environment.

We provide an excellent first opinion, emergency & critical care services and work to the highest clinical gold standards. We also are very privileged to work alongside a multi-disciplinary Virtual Veterinary Specialists service. The VVS digital platform makes it possible to have real-time live interactions with Veterinary Specialists. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to treat a wide range of patients and conditions with the support of dedicated professionals.

We also offer relocation allowances should you move more than 50 miles from your current home address. 

We can also support Certificates of Sponsorship for a Tier 2 (General) Visa if you meet the criteria and are eligible to register as a veterinary surgeon with the RCVS upon arrival in the UK.

Skills and experience:

The ideal candidate will have at least 3-5 years' UK small animal practice (or UK equivalent) experience.

You will have a passion for emergency and critical care and will thrive on working at gold standard in patient and client care. All our practices share the same software, so you will have access to your patients’ history at all times; case continuity guaranteed! This role may suit an ECC Certificate holder or someone who is working towards this - full funding will be given.

Previous OOH experience is desirable. 

Branch:

Medivet 24 hour Dearne Valley Hospital offers well-equipped facilities including digital and dental x-ray, ultrasound, tonometer, bronchoscope and endoscope, video otoscope, blood pressure machine, ECG, full lab including microscope, haematology and biochemistry analyser, bone kit as well as full ex-lap kit including suction and diathermy. You will also have access to our state of the art onsite CT scanner and mobile MRI.

Dearne Valley is a 24 hour purpose built facility with 3 large consulting rooms, 2 theatres, large prep area, internal lab facilities and large learning and office spaces.
