Job Details

Heavily supported Vet role at a well-established independent practice. A great opportunity for newly qualified Small Animal or Mixed Vets to develop in a friendly and supportive environment!

This independent, three-site, mixed practice has been established for well over 20 years, offering small animal, farm, and equine services to Cumbria and beyond.

The role is heavily supported for newly qualified Vets, with a dedicated new graduate course designed to aid your clinical transition into practice as well as non-clinical skills to set you up for successful career.

You also be mentored by a Director/GDP Vet for additional support and someone you can turn to for advice.

This is a 13 Vet practice with roughly a 50/50 split of Small/Large Animal work. There is scope for a newly qualified Vet to come in either as a Small Animal or a Mixed Vet.

The practice has all the modern Veterinary equipment you would expect, including digital radiography, endoscopy, ultrasound, orthopaedic equipment, in house lab.

At the main purpose-built site, there are four consult rooms, a large double ops theatre, separate imaging suite, separate cat and dog wards.

Key Duties

The role is for a 4.5-day week with three weekends in 12 (Saturday morning in branch and the rest on call), as well as one night on call during the week. New graduates would be fully supported with more experienced Vets while on call.

There is flexibility/caseload for someone to come in as either a Small Animal or a Mixed Vet.

Package and Benefits

  • Salary will be around £30,000 - £35,000 for new graduates and those with some initial experience
  • 5 weeks holiday plus bank holidays
  • Professional fees paid for
  • On site accommodation for on call if needed
  • £1,000 CPD allowance (certificate study always up for discussion)

Key Skills, Qualifications and Client Requirements

You must be a registered Veterinary Surgeon eligible to work in the UK. This is an incredibly supportive practice so prior experience is not necessary, just a positive and energetic attitude towards developing as a Vet!
