The role:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Veterinary Surgeon to join our delightful Oakengates practice in Telford. You will be working alongside our friendly and orthopaedically-skilled Branch Partner Duncan. We are looking to recruit a well-rounded general practitioner veterinary surgeon to join our wonderful team.

By joining our friendly, professional, and personable team in the practice, you’ll deliver exceptional care by supporting your colleagues' well-being and doing what you do best for your patients and clients.

As a qualified MRCVS, you’ll already have good experience gained in small animal practice. You’ll be competent in clinical examination, dentistry, and surgery, and confident working in sole charge or as part of the wider team. You will also display good communication skills and the desire to share your knowledge and skills by being an outstanding, positive example to others.

We have a welcoming team to colleagues, clients, and pets alike. In feedback, our clients describe us as friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. We would describe our clients as loyal, friendly, and engaged in their pets' health.

The rota works as alternate weeks: a three and a half day the first week, then a four and a half-day week the next. The 3.5-day week includes Friday off for a long weekend every other week. We will consider a standard 4-day week for the right candidate, please let us know if this is what you would like. Hours are 9 am-7 pm for the full days and 9 am-1:30 pm for the half days.

Weekends are 1:3 Saturdays at Oakengates with appointments 9 am-5 pm although you are paid until 7 pm, should anything unexpected occur.

The full-time hours are 39 per week including the weekend work.

Salary and benefits:

• - Salary package up to £63,000 dependent on experience
• - Vehicle or vehicle allowance 
• - RCVS, VDS, BVA fees paid
• - 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays
• - Relocation packages are available in the UK and overseas.

Skills and experience:

We can also support Certificates of Sponsorship for a Tier 2 (General) Visa if you meet the criteria and are eligible to register as a veterinary surgeon with the RCVS upon arrival in the UK.

Medivet Oakengates has a friendly supportive team that consists of a Branch Partner Vet Surgeon, a Nursing team of 4 staff including an HRVN and a receptionist.

Telford has great shopping, bars, and restaurants at Southwater and is 40 mins drive to Liverpool airport.
