Job Details

The role:

An exciting and rarely available opportunity has arisen for a Registered Veterinary Nurse, with a keen interest in imaging, to work within our Imaging Unit at Medivet Watford.

The successful candidate will work closely with our lovely Imaging Vet and Cert Holder, Pablo as well as our fantastic nursing team made up of nine qualified nurses and four student nurses. 

This role has arisen due to an internal move and works our new 4-day week, enabling a fantastic work-life balance with no impact on your £30,000 per annum salary!

We value our nurses and recognise the integral part they play in our teams. This new and improved rota will provide our exceptional RVNs with more flexibility and well-earned time back during the week.

Salary, hours, and benefits:

  • - Salary £30,000 per annum
  • - £750 CPD allowance with 2-days CPD leave and in-house CPD available
  • - Hours 08:30-18:00 and 10:00-19:00 / 38.66 hours per week
  • - RCVS and VDS fees paid
  • - 5 weeks paid annual leave (equivalent to 22.7 days) plus bank holidays
  • - Fair share of bank holiday cover and minimal on-call duties to support our dedicated night team, if required

Key accountabilities:

As our Imaging Nurse, you will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the unit. Your tasks will include:

  • - Scheduling appointments with clinical team members
  • - Positioning patients for scans
  • - Assisting nurses with patient induction and recovery
  • - Maintaining stock levels and the cleanliness of the unit
  • - Marketing of the CT machine to promote the service
  • - Nursing at the hospital when the imaging unit is quiet

Skills and experience:

  • - RCVS Registered Veterinary Nurse
  • - Ability to manage a busy procedure diary
  • - Excellent communication skills
  • - Keen interest in Imaging
  • - Ability to work independently as well as part of a larger team

Branch:

Watford 24-Hour in the hospital for approx. 20 branches across Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire, and Greater London.

The hospital is led by our two Branch Partners, Andrea, and Candice with a fantastic team of certificate holders including Small Animal Surgery and Orthopaedics, Medicine, and Imaging.

The hospital is well equipped with diagnostic ultrasound, endoscopy, CT, dental X-ray, and a full orthopaedic theatre. We also have a dedicated night team who provides exceptional out of our care to our patients across the region.
