At Vetfinders we are helping practices grow and find their next hire. A new opportunity has arisen for a motivated Veterinary Surgeon to join this growing small animal practice in Norfolk.

Benefits

  • RCVS & VDS membership fees paid.
  • CPD Allowance.
  • Employee discounts.
  • Pension scheme.
  • BUPA Healthcare.

Role

  • 4 days pw.
  • Rota can include a long weekend off per month.

We are looking for a 5th Veterinary surgeon to expand our current 4 vet team at our small animal and exotics practice in North Walsham Norfolk. We would be able to accommodate a full time (4-day week) or part time role for the right candidate and are open to a medical or surgical bias or a consult only role.

You will have independence to work up and treat your own cases but also full support whenever needed. We are committed to continually investing in our team, equipment and facilities to ensure we always provide our patients with the best care possible and our staff with the opportunity to be the vets they always wanted to be with rotas to help achieve a good work life balance. Certificates are fully supported, funded and encouraged

We do provide out of hours care for our clients as this helps us to provide the highest standard of care for our patients, but the on call is very quiet. You will receive additional remuneration for any call outs.

The Practice

We are a small animal and exotics practice who also offer referral services for exotic pets, CT scanning, laser therapy, physiotherapy and Dermatology and care for a couple of local zoo collections. We also provide vet services for a local RSPCA clinic 1.5 days a week to support our local community.  Our consults are 15 minutes with 30 minutes for euthanasia or more complex cases etc. Our vets also have protected admin time.

We are seeking a veterinary surgeon with a passion for patient and client care and a friendly approachable personality. We are happy to accommodate a medical or surgical bias for the right candidate and could provide a consult only role if desired. Experience in exotics is beneficial but definitely not essential! Our 4 vets all have many years of experience so we can support a newer graduate or help a less confident / experienced vet grow their skills and fulfil their dreams.

Since opening in 2014 Toll Barn Vets, our purpose built and family run independent practice has grown quickly and enjoys a loyal client base with a large number of interesting medical, imaging and surgical cases. All our vets have particular areas of interest and we are happy to support, invest and encourage these.

Our vets have a great support team including 10 RVNs. We are proudly independent and strive to offer fantastic patient and client care. We are accredited Gold Feline Friendly and Gold Rabbit Friendly and are proud to have won the Burgess Rabbit Practice of the Year award.

The practice has separate cat, dog and exotic pet waiting areas and wards, dedicated operating theatres and prep room, laser therapy unit, on site C.T. scanner, digital x-ray, dental x-ray, ultrasound, video endoscopy, tonometry, multiparameter units etc and a memory garden.

This is a great chance to be involved in an independent practice surrounded by a motivated supportive team helping you to do the work you are trained to do.

Company

VetFinders is a recruitment business with a social mission at its heart. We are more than a recruitment business whose only aim is to make a profit, this isn’t us! We aim to make a profit of course we do but we work with a number of charities  giving back to the industry we love. Giving is at the heart of our business, we work with the local college Askham Bryan sponsoring two nurse students through their studies, have worked  with Street Vet advertising their roles for free, donate to a local charity helping disabled and life limiting children with animal therapy and work with Blue Cross. When we place candidates in a new role we donate enough to pay for a Blue Cross nurse for the day. ‘A dream job for you, a Blue Cross Nurse paid for too.
