Barry & Boveton

Veterinary Surgeon, Barry

We have an exciting opportunity for a small animal vet to join our successful and well established two centre practice group in Barry.

Up to £50,000 depending on experience plus benefits and bonus.

Are you looking for flexible working where wellbeing and mindfulness is at the core? Would you like to work with a very supportive and friendly team who are always looking to improve both patient and client care? Laughter and cake eating essential.

You will be part of a 5 vet team working alongside 1 practice manager, 1 HVN, 3 RVNs, 2 SVN's, 3 PCAs and 3 receptionists with client service and excellent clinical standards at the heart of everything we do. In fact, we have just achieved an OUTSTANDING client service award and we are silver ISFM accredited. We're also extremely proud of helping our team develop within their careers, with our Senior Vet currently working towards a medicine certificate, and 2 of our RVN's working towards certificates in Exotics and medicine.

The practices are located along the beautiful South Glamorgan coast. They are dedicated small animal veterinary practices that house great facilities including separate dog, cat and exotic kennels, a bereavement room, separate vet and nurse consulting rooms and an excellent in-house lab including a new endocrine analyser, ultrasound equipment, digital x-ray and dental x-ray.

This role would suit an experienced vet although we enjoy helping less experienced vets flourish.

This is a full time position where you will be required to work a 40 hour week across 4.5 days with 1 in 4 Saturdays and no out of hours, the practice would also consider part time applications to suit around school hours, flexible working or just morning / afternoon cover.

There is also the opportunity to develop a long-term career with future opportunities within our large national group. We want our members of staff to develop and progress and in turn so will our practices.

The Benefits:
  • An attractive salary
  • RCVS and VDS fees covered
  • Access to the company share-save scheme and individual bonus scheme (based on personal productivity)
  • Up to 7 weeks annual leave plus Bank Holidays (or equivalent) with our Buy/Sell holiday scheme - allowing you to purchase an additional two weeks of annual leave
  • Receive an extra days leave each year in your first 5 years at CVS
  • Cycle to work scheme and subsidised gym membership
  • Enhanced Maternity, Paternity and Adoption pay
  • Access to Perkbox
  • Employee Assistance Programme
  • Access to First Aid for Mental Health and Wellbeing Champions across CVS and 300 trained CVS colleagues in this role.
  • Pet treatment and product discounts
