Head Veterinary Nurse

The Role

Link Vets, Haddington are expanding their services and will be operating as a 24/7 veterinary practice meaning we now need to expand our nursing team! We are looking for a Head Veterinary Nurse to join our fantastic team of nurses.

The role will involve clinical duties as well as organising and mentoring our nursing team. Using your clinical knowledge and management skills to organise stock control and equipment and liaising with senior management to ensure co-operation between departments. 

Rota

• 40 hours per week (Full time)
• Working across 5 days 
• 1:6 weekend rota – with generous time back given or option of overtime to be paid 
• OOH – Occasional cover for sickness and holidays for night team as and when needed 

Salary 

• Up to £32,000 negotiable D.O.E.
• Relocation allowance if up to £5,000

About us

Our purpose-built building is situated in the picturesque town of Haddington, East Lothian, only 20 miles from Edinburgh city centre. We are lucky enough to have the most beautiful coastline as well as sitting at the foot of the Lammermuir hills. We have a dedicated Reception Team and an Animal Care Assistant. We run dedicated nurse clinics and encourage certificates and CPD.

We have 5 branches situated over East Lothian that are currently manned by 15 vets, 9 nurses and 14 receptionists. We have a regular visiting Orthopaedic vet who visits the surgery every week as well as an onsite ophthalmologist 3 days per week. 

Applicant Requirements

Must be RCVS registered, the ideal candidate would have head nurse experience or clinical coaching experience, but training and courses will all be available to help to gain the skills required. This role would also suit an experienced nurse looking to move into their first management role.
