Veterinary Surgeon - Exclusively Small Animal

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Veterinary Surgeon to join our friendly and supportive team here at Park Issa Veterinary Hospital, Oswestry!

The role is first opinion small animal vet split between consults and surgery. There is scope for any specialisation.

Rota and Salary

We welcome full or part time applications and happy to discuss rotas and working patterns.

Currently it is 3.5 days a week with one night on call and one weekend in 5 on call.

Salary up to 50k/year FTE depending on experience

About Us

We are a hospital status practice with modern facilities in a traditional building in an expanding market town on the picturesque Shropshire/Welsh border with easy links into Birmingham and Manchester.

We are a mixed practice with a significant farm side, but this role is exclusively small animal. Because of these we see a good proportion of working dogs.

On the companion animal side, we are a first opinion clinic but cover our own out of hours and pride ourselves on the service we can offer our clients.

We function as a team with good support and encourage professional development

We have all the toys you might expect of a hospital including Digital Xray and MMP orthopaedic kit.

Our nurses are on site 24/7 and do a fantastic job out of hours taking the phones and helping the on-call vets making on call that significant bit easier

About the Team and Culture

We have 12 vets, 9 nurses and 2 VCA. We have multiple certificate holders in medicine, surgery, ophthalmology with several of the vets currently training. We would support the candidate and try to integrate any of their interests into their work role. Studying for a certificate would be encouraged. We are active in the local area; our main event is a stand at our local agricultural show, but we also do lots of events to raise funds for our nominated charity: Mental Health Research UK

Applicant Requirements

This position is replacing an experienced vet so ideally; we would like someone with experience. We are a supportive team and would try to tailor the job to fit a candidate’s strengths
