Central Ontario Veterinary Services is looking for a full-time large-animal veterinarian to join our team of 3 to 4 veterinarians, Registered Veterinary Technician, and client service staff. We are a mobile practice serving Simcoe County and beyond from our base in Barrie, Ontario. Our caseload is approximately 66% equine and 33% ruminants. Equine patients encompass the broad range of equestrian disciplines and many beloved backyard horses. Our ruminant clients range from progressive dairy and beef producers to owners of pet goats. To help our veterinarians practice high quality medicine we are equipped with digital radiography, ultrasound scanners, a 3-metre endoscope, and electronic medical records. Our new colleague will have the use of a vehicle with a fully stocked mobile vet box.
We are a growing, progressive, client-focused practice. We value a collaborative, inclusive environment, that still maintains individual veterinarians’ clinical freedom. Experienced veterinarians and new graduates are welcome to apply. Our current veterinarians are excited to provide mentorship to a new graduate. Once our new colleague feels confident and capable, on-call duties will split between all veterinarians.
Our large, scenic practice area includes lakes, forests, and countryside where wildlife abounds and residents enjoy outdoor activities in every season including hiking, skiing, cycling, fishing, boating, and a full range of equestrian sports. The city of Barrie and the larger towns are well-served with schools, hospitals, shopping, and professional services. Cultural activities including organised sport, theatre and music flourish in most of our communities. Local post-secondary institutions include Lakehead University and Georgian College.
Our compensation package includes a competitive salary, paid licensing and membership fees, a generous CE allowance, group medical and dental insurance, paid vacation, paid personal days, and a paid day off following weekends on-call.
Please contact us via accounting@centralontariovet.com to learn more about our practice and to discuss joining our team of animal health care professionals. Committed to inclusivity in employment, we welcome and encourage applicants of all backgrounds. Applicants must have passed the NAVLE, be eligible to be licensed by the College of Veterinarians of Ontario, and be eligible to work in Canada.
