About Us

Milan Veterinary Practice has been established on the Isle of Man for over 30 years. We are a mixed practice, with 3 branches across the island. Our main clinic is in Douglas, with branches in Castletown and Peel.

Our Douglas clinic has 3 consultation rooms and it is also where we do most of our operating. We have digital radiography, ultrasound, dental machine and in house Idexx equipment. Castletown is slightly smaller. We only do more routine operations here and have a dental machine and in house Idexx machine. Our Peel clinic is currently for consulting only. This busy clinic has just reopened following a move to new premises and a full refurbishment.

Altogether we have a team of 8 Vets, some are a purely small animal, and others are mixed. We are very well supported by our team of 9 experienced Veterinary Nurses and support team of 13 receptionists and administrators. We have an ophthalmologist who visits the island every 2-4 weeks, to whom we can refer complicated ocular cases.

The Isle of Man is a beautiful place to live! With easy access to beaches and open countryside, lovely restaurants and cafes, there is plenty to do. The Isle of Man is very multicultural with people having relocated here from all over the world.

The maximum income tax rate on the Isle of Man is 20% and there is a National Insurance freeze for your first year of working on the island. We provide a car and a relocation package up to £5000 and can help in finding accommodation.

Company

We are a well-established mixed practice and have a strong, large, animal database and massive potential to expand our services, based on the Isle of Man, an island 33 miles long by 13 miles wide in the middle of the Irish sea, between the UK and Ireland.

We have 3 clinics, our main branch is in the capital Douglas, with the other branches in the south and the west. We have not got a northern branch, but this is not a problem as nowhere is more than half an hour away!

We currently have 5 vets, consisting of 1 full time LA/EQ, 2 PT mixed vets and 2 FT SA vets. We have 8 versatile RVN’s, 4 FTE and 4 PT and we have an experienced support team of 16. We are a friendly, supportive bunch who are great at supplying everyone with lots of tea and coffee! We have a couple of keen bakers within our team that bring sweet treats in from time to time and we enjoy social nights out.

Whether you are single or coming with a family, the Isle of Man is a beautiful place to live, with lots of rural areas and a strong farming community. With easy access to beaches and open countryside, lovely restaurants and cafes, there is plenty to do. The Isle of Man is very multicultural with people having relocated here from all over the world. It is a welcoming place, and there is something for everyone, no matter what you enjoy. There are also good connections by air and sea to the UK and Ireland, if you want to explore further afield.
