Consulting Registered Veterinary Nurse required at Penmellyn Vets, St. Columb Major Hospital

The Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Consulting Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our friendly team here at Penmellyn Vets! The role will primarily involve consulting alongside our vets. You will have support from our other nurses, but we are looking for a nurse who is experienced and passionate about consulting and interacting with our clients. We are flexible with the weekly rota but some weekend work will be included. We currently have a dedicated night team so there will be little of this type of work involved.

About Us

Penmellyn Vets have 6 surgeries across Cornwall. There is a supportive team of vets and nurses who are supported in any request for extra CPD. Our present rota allows staff to have time to enjoy the beautiful Cornish coast and countryside. We have 25 vets across all sites and over 40 nurses, some working part time and some full-time hours. This provides
a great support network for new staff both professionally and outside of work as well.

Applicant Requirements

Must have experience consulting and be confident to run the nurse consults sole charge. Great communication skills are required both with the clients and the team.

Company

Penmellyn currently has full in-patient, theatre, hospital, and isolation facilities. We are fully equipped with mobile DR, ultrasound, gastro and endoscope, powers floats and arthroscopy at the clinic. The hospital is based in beautiful mid Cornwall, only a short driving distance of gorgeous beaches and countryside. Newquay airport is less than 10 minutes’ drive away.

We have a dedicated team of 4.75 Equine Vets, including an internal medicine certificate holder who is also one of the Clinical Directors of Penmellyn. We also have dedicated Equine Nurses, Administrators and Grooms.
