 A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Hospital Ward Veterinary Surgeon to join our friendly and loyal team in our 24 Hour Hospital Alder which is or hub practice for our 17 practices in Liverpool. Our practice has a friendly client base who appreciate the personal service we provide.

We are looking for an experienced vet with a passion for inpatient care. The ideal candidate needs to be able to work as part of a large team but also have the ability to function independently formulating and following treatment plans.

Main areas of this position is to provide high quality care for the inpatients whilst maintaining the relationship with referring veterinary surgeons. You will have a fantastic team around you for support 24 hours round the clock which includes 1 soft tissue surgeon, 2 orthopaedic surgeons an imaging vet and a dedicated night team. 

This role would be a daytime role, 4 days a week. You will provide high quality medical treatment to all hospitalised patients whilst maintaining good working relationships with our referring vets.

This is a newly refurbished hospital in Alder with high quality equipment installed which includes a CT scanner. This role would be a daytime role, 4 days a week. 

We are seeking a vet with a client-oriented approach and excellent communication skills and will work to a very high standard both medically and surgically and have the drive and ambition to help develop this practice further.

This role requires a motivated vet to work confidently in a busy environment with the ability to make sound clinical judgement.

This is a full time role working 39 hours per week

Salary & Benefits:

• Salary up to £71,459 dependent on experience which includes:

• Accommodation allowance of £6,600

• Vehicle or £2,500 vehicle allowance

• £1,500 CPD allowance with 3 days CPD leave

• VDS, RCVS, BVA fees paid

• 5 weeks' annual leave plus bank holidays

• Certificates fully supported

Alder 24 hour hospital has recently undergone a refurbishment and has facilities such as digital x-ray, ultrasound, in house lab, endoscopy, laparoscopy and CT.

The hospital has a dedicated night team and takes referrals from the other Medivet branches in the region.
