The Role

We are looking for a dedicated small animal vet to join our day team at Pool House Vets.

The role is split between time at our main hospital (Lichfield) and one
of our nearby branches, allowing you to build a loyal client base at both locations and allowing good continuity of care. The rota is divided allowing a good mix of consulting sessions alongside ample surgical time and time for working up individual cases.

We have changed our rota for the better and are implementing a dedicated OOH team. The shift pattern for this role is 4 days per week with weekend days evenly shared and no night duties. Ideally, we are looking for a full-time vet, but we are happy to consider part-time work for the right candidate.

The salary for this role is up to £50,000 depending on experience.

About Us

We have been based in Lichfield, Staffordshire for over a hundred years and are firmly rooted in the local area.

Our purpose-built Tier 3 Hospital is based in the leafy outskirts of the Cathedral City and is supported by 3 nearby branches. In addition, we have a successful and busy physio and hydrotherapy centre based at our Lichfield premises.

We are kitted out with the usual toys including a digital x-ray, high-end doppler ultrasound, rigid and flexible endoscopes including laparoscopy equipment, orthopaedic equipment and a comprehensive in-house laboratory.

About the Team and Culture

We are a tight-knit 14 vet team including Anaesthesia and ECC certificate holders with other vets working towards surgical and imaging certifi-cates. At our Lichfield practice, we have a hospital vet, managed by one of the senior vets to offer support for our hospitalised patients and to help with complex medical cases.

Crucially we are supported by a fantastic nursing team who always push us to provide the best care for our patients.

We are a social bunch and recent staff outings have included bowling, water obstacle courses and several dining excursions!

Applicant Requirements

We are a supportive, friendly team and we regularly take on new graduates, with many of our vets still in their first job! We will provide an excellent opportunity to develop confidence in your early years. Equally, the role would suit a more experienced colleague who can bring new skills to a team of certificate holders, and vets working towards AP status. Most importantly you must be a team player who is keen to provide a first-rate service to our loyal clients and their pets.

Benefits - Subject to Pro Rata:

  • Enhanced holiday entitlement and increasing holiday based on length of service
