The Role

We are looking for a vet surgeon at Animals 1st, Macmerry on a full time/part time basis. Caseload will include a real mix of 1st opinion work including orthopaedics, dentistry, soft tissue surgery as well as medicine cases. Sharing consults and surgery with the other vet surgeons in prac-tice along with the opportunity to develop your own caseloads in line with your interests as a vet.

Rota

  • Working 4 days per week (full time basis) – Flexibility on part time options
  • 1:3 Saturday mornings (sole charge) 9am-12pm
  • No OOH – this is covered by Vets Now, Edinburgh

Salary

Up to £50,000 negotiable DOE

Welcome bonus of up to £1,500 and relocation package of up to £5,000

 About Us

Animals’ 1st is a Small Animal veterinary practice based East Lothian, with our main surgery in Macmerry and branch surgery in Haddington. We take pride in providing excellent patient and client care, while being part of a fun and supportive team.

Our growing team consists of 5 Veterinary Surgeons, 2 Registered Veterinary Nurses, 2 Animal Care Assistants and 3 Receptionists across the two sites. The team work well together to provide and outstanding level of customer service and patient care. We are friendly and outgoing, teamwork is important to us, no matter what your role. Each member of the team brings something unique to the practice.

Applicant Requirements

Must be RCVS registered and qualified, must be confident in sole charge, must be an experienced small animal vet. Further certification is supported and funded.
