The Role

We are looking for a full/part time Veterinary Surgeon to join our team
at Oaks Veterinary Centre, Saltcoats. Working on a variety of caseloads including Orthopaedics & soft tissue and all your usual routine ops splitting your time between theatre and consultations. There is scope
for building your own caseloads based on your interests as a vet and bringing in new services to the clinic is highly encouraged and supported

Rota

  • Working 4 days per week full time (part time hours negotiable)
  • Weekend rota is 1:7 full weekend
  • 1:7 Saturday mornings – with time off in lieu during the week
  • 1-2 hours of admin time per day
  • No OOH

Salary

  • Up to £47,000 negotiable D.O.E
  • Welcome bonus of up to £1,500
  • Relocation package up to £5,000

About Us

Our sites have been recently modernised offering a great working environment and high standard of patient care. Our 3 sites are located in Ayrshire on the Southwest Coast of Scotland offering both beach and rural areas nearby. We are also only 45 minutes from the city of Glasgow.

Our team consists of 9 vets, a nursing team of 10 and a reception team of 8 - we even have our own in-house groomers. We have a good managerial structure in place with everyone encouraged to manage their own teams. We currently have vets who are completing surgical and feline medicine certificates and one vet who has completed a medicine certificate. We have nurses who hold feline nursing certificates, and nurses who are currently completing nutrition and surgical certificates.

Applicant Requirements

Must be RCVS registered and qualified, it is essential that you are a confident clinician with good communication skills and a willingness to promote a high standard of clinical work and client/patient care. In addition to your excellent clinical skills, you will need to be a people-oriented person, who is willing to support and guide your colleagues.
