The role:

We are seeking an Assistant Veterinary Surgeon to join our clinic in Beaminster, Girling and Bowditch Veterinary Surgeons.

Joining our professional, personable team in the practice, you’ll deliver exceptional care by going beyond consulting to listen and empathising, putting patients and clients first, always.

As a qualified MRCVS, you’ll already have good experience gained in small animal practice. You’ll be competent in clinical examination and surgery and confident working sole charge or as part of the wider team. Sharing our values being trustworthy, caring and progressive, you will have all the softer skills essential to working effectively, building trusting relationships with your colleagues, harnessing our one team culture.

You will also display good communication skills and the desire to share your knowledge and skills by being an outstanding, positive example to others.

Skills and experience:

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 1-2 years’ UK small animal practice (or UK equivalent) experience and be confident in their recommendations.

You must be pet and client-centric and have excellent communication skills, competent in spays and castrates. An interest or experience in laparoscopic surgery is desirable but not essential.

Branch:

Our clinic is purpose built and set in picturesque grounds just outside the Dorset town of Beaminster. We have fantastic clients and we are active in the local community. 

You will be working within a well-equipped practice including digital x-ray, ultrasound, tonometer, laparoscopy, blood pressure machine, full lab including microscope, haematology and biochemistry analyser, orthopaedic kit and more. We provide our own out of hours emergency cover, and are working closely with our wider Medivet Dorchester area.
