We are looking for three dynamic individuals to join our team of Ruminant Veterinary Advisors to work alongside our customers and internal sales and marketing colleagues to promote best practice use of our health care solutions, including an extensive portfolio of ruminant vaccinations.

The current roles are:

Sector Veterinary Advisor (12 -month Maternity Cover)

To be a technical expert for the cattle ruminant product portfolio working with marketing colleagues to develop, promote and implement cattle preventative healthcare programmes and solutions, designed to leverage the MSD ruminant product portfolio. Priority is given to creating preventative healthcare solutions; however, field support of these solutions will still be a requirement.

You will develop networks of benefit to MSD Animal Health, including working with national stakeholders, KOLs and academic institutions, collating information from internal and external sources, to summarise and translate this information into differentiating points and to create cattle specific prevention solutions based on this information.

To provide MSD Animal Health with comprehensive in-house technical training to ensure that all staff are trained to their necessary level to ensure effective promotion of prevention solutions and products.

You will be responsible for gaining appropriate insights to ensure prevention solutions and MSD products are well aligned with needs of customer and end-user, to encourage a high level of adoption and sales. To ensure all company literature reflects a true and accurate technical representation of the products and activity of MSD Animal Health. Promoting the company and its products to all customers in an ethical and balanced way.

Regional Veterinary Advisor (12 – month Maternity Cover), covering Northern England (Cumbria/Yorkshire/Derbyshire) and North Wales.

Regional Veterinary Advisor (Full Time Permanent Role), covering North East England and Scotland. 

As a regional veterinary advisor, you will provide specialist veterinary expertise on all aspects of MSD Animal Health ruminant products and product markets. You will work with Veterinary Practices and Agricultural Trade businesses to increase market share and stimulate market growth providing technical support for the ruminant portfolio. Within these customers you will develop business within specified accounts, including designated Key Accounts in accordance with the overall business unit strategy.

You will be responsible for assessing strategic opportunities for
MSD Animal Health to support sales activity and actively input into commercial development within your region. To provide a high-level of technical and disease knowledge, efficiently dealing with customer queries and complaints and balancing the best interests of MSD Animal Health with those of the customer in the most cost-effective and yet ethical manner. 

Qualifications, Skills & Experience Required:

  • Veterinary Medicine degree essential
  • At least two years’ experience with ruminants in a UK veterinary practice environment
  • Experience of implementing disease prevention programmes
  • Strong interpersonal skills for dealing with a wide range of customers and team members
  • Excellent communicator (verbally and in writing) clearly and succinctly demonstrating customer centricity at all times
  • Quick to learn and adapt; ready to learn and ask lots of questions, demonstrating a growth mindset
  • Passion and persistence
