VCA Canada Central Victoria Veterinary Hospital in Victoria, British Columbia is hiring a full time, Board Certified Veterinary Surgeon to join our dedicated pet health care team.

Come work and play in one of the most beautiful cities in the world! Victoria enjoys the mildest climate of any city in Canada and boasts the rugged, natural beauty of the Pacific coast. Victoria offers a unique opportunity for nature lovers to enjoy an indoor-outdoor lifestyle. Join us in providing state-of-the-art veterinary care in our brand new 20,000 ft2 facility, opening in late summer 2021.

Our new hospital will offer advanced diagnostic and treatment options across several specialty and emergency departments, including a dedicated intensive care unit (ICU) providing oxygen therapy, cardiac monitoring, blood transfusions, mechanical ventilation and nutritional support. The ICU provides patient support, pain and anesthesia consultations for all internal cases, and critical care on a referral basis. Our blood bank allows our canine and feline patients to have access to a safe blood supply.  As part of the new facility, the West Coast Cancer Treatment Centre will use the latest innovations in veterinary diagnostics and cancer treatment, housing MRI, CT and LINAC modalities.  This hospital is further equipped with digital radiography, ultrasound, endoscopy, radiation therapy, on-site diagnostic laboratory, and advanced monitoring equipment.

If you would like to be part of a new and growing referral hospital with a dedicated, motivated team, we would love to connect with you. As the first large Veterinary Referral Hospital on Vancouver Island, this is an amazing opportunity to participate in the creation of Victoria’s principal veterinary care center.

Currently, our team includes 24-hour emergency care and specialists in Dermatology, Oncology and Diagnostic Imaging. This summer we welcome Critical Care, Neurology and Rehabilitation Specialists to our team and will further incorporate Internal Medicine and Surgical Oncology in 2022.

With four bright and spacious surgical operatory suites available and a full complement of surgical equipment for both soft tissue and orthopedic caseload, we are well equipped to serve the high demand for surgical specialists in our market.

Our hospital culture fosters teamwork and collaboration, enabling us to provide optimal patient care in a collegial environment.  As we grow our hospital and team, we strive to provide an exceptional service to our clients, referring veterinarians and community. VCA Canada offers a variety of opportunities for career growth and continuing education within our extensive network of hospitals. Additionally, we offer competitive wages, pet and veterinary discounts and group benefits for full-time staff.  If you are seeking a vibrant, rewarding learning environment for your career working within a highly effective, motivated team, this is the job for you!

As our ideal Candidate, you have:
