We are looking for a small animal surgeon (Orthopaedic and Soft Tissue) to complement our range of disciplines and develop our fledgling surgery service. A certificate or diploma holder in surgery would be ideal although we would consider someone with very good general surgical skills working towards a certificate: mentorship can be provided. Initially the case load would be light and there would be ample opportunity to work part-time or to be available to study/perform research.
Scottish Vet Referrals is an independent, non-corporate practice, set in Inverness in the Highlands of Scotland. We take great pride in offering
a high-quality service in a friendly, easy-going environment. There are excellent rail and air links; amenities including cinema, theatre and retail; good schools; and, of course, the great outdoors for walking, climbing, cycling and watersports.
All our work is referred from general practices in Scotland. Out other referral disciplines are: Ophthalmology, Cardiology, Medicine and Oncology. Digital x-ray, ultrasound, flexible and rigid endoscopy and a Toshiba Aquilon 64 slice CT scanner are present on site. Hospitalised patients are looked after by a qualified RVN.
Terms:
The full-time position being offered is 40 hours, 5 days (Monday to Friday) per week, although the number of hours per day and days per week is negotiable.
- No out of hours
- Competitive salary commensurate with experience, qualifications and days worked starting at £56,000
- Relocation package
- Holidays :6 weeks per year and service-based holiday entitlement increases
- Professional Membership Fees
- £2000 CPD allowance
- Pension
- Opportunity to become a shareholder and director in young, growing referral practice
