The Role

A rare opportunity has arisen for a Head Veterinary Nurse to join our well-established 24-hour practice at Sussex Coast Vets in Bexhill. 

We are looking for an experienced nurse who can positively motivate
and provide gold standard care. You will need to be dedicated to giving excellent client service through clear and effective communication and
a compassionate approach, whilst always prioritising patient care.

You will be required to undertake general nursing duties including inpatient care, anaesthesia and nurse clinics as well as providing support and leadership to our nursing team. There will be additional tasks including clinical coaching, rotas, H&S, organisation of twice yearly stocktake and ensuring that all nursing protocols are maintained and complied with. 

This is a full-time position, 4 days per week with alternating early and late shifts, 8am-6pm or 10am-8pm. This includes a 1:6 weekend working schedule. No out of hours required.

Salary is up to £30,000 depending on experience.

About Us

Our practice is part of a group of five branches serving the Hastings and Bexhill area providing an out-of-hours emergency service to a number of other practices in the area.

The clinic is equipped with the full range of diagnostic laboratory equipment, digital x-ray, Doppler ultrasound, endoscopy and excellent facilities. 

East Sussex is an area steeped in history, with beautiful countryside, stunning coastlines and an abundance of choice within the art, sports and leisure scenes. We also have the convenience of great links to Brighton, London and Gatwick.

About the Team and Culture

Our fantastic, supportive team has a diverse range of Vets, Registered Veterinary Nurses and Student Veterinary Nurses. We also have a wonderful support team function, some of which have been with us for many years, as well as a range of fantastic new recruits. The practice
has been established for around 50 years, we have five branches, one
of them running a 24-hour emergency service, and we also have three training practices allowing us to support and encourage further educa-tion. We have a strong focus on client education and preventative health care as well as ensuring a safe and happy workplace for our team.

Applicant Requirements

We are looking for a Head Registered Veterinary Nurse. The ideal candidate will ideally have experience working in similar environment with some supervisory experience and preferably clinical coaching. The role is also suitable for experienced Registered Veterinary Nurses looking to develop their career to the next level. You will be able to lead by exam-ple by providing excellent client service whilst demonstrating exceptional nursing care to our patients. This role requires excellent communication skills, a positive can-do attitude, the ability to work well within a team and possess a strong work ethic.
