The role:

We have a rare opportunity for a full time Registered Veterinary Nurse with a keen interest in imaging/diagnostics to working alongside our team in our state-of-the-art Imaging Unit at Alder 24 Hour hospital. The unit is equipped with CT scanner and provides a service to branches across the Northwest.

As our dedicated imaging nurse, you will be responsible for the day to day running of the unit.

Your tasks will include setting up the CT scanner daily, scheduling appointments, positioning patients for scans, assisting with patient induction and recovery, maintaining stock levels, the cleanliness of the unit and the general day to day organisation of this area. You will assist in the servicing and general maintenance of the CT scanner.

A key aspect of this role is being responsible for communicating with the hospital team, regarding in-patients that require diagnostic work up and scheduling these cases onto the daily list.

As our dedicated imaging nurse, you will assist the Vet team with advanced ultrasonography and radiography.

Training will be provided to ensure you are confident and competent in performing AFAST and TFAST.

Skills and experience:

You will have the following skills/experience:

RCVS Registered Veterinary Nurse

Ability to manage a busy procedure diary

Excellent communication skills

Keen interest in Imaging - previous experience using a CT scanner preferred, but not essential

Ability to work independently as well as part of a larger team

Keen interest to pursue diagnostic/imaging related CPD

Branch:

Alder 24 hour hospital is a seven vet practice and has recently undergone a refurbishment and has facilities such as digital x-ray, ultrasound, in house lab, endoscopy, laparoscopy and CT.

The hospital has a dedicated night team and takes referrals from the other Medivet branches in the region.
