The Role
Castle Vets is looking for a full-time veterinary surgeon to join their team working within their 1st opinion mixed practice consisting of small animal, farm, and equine caseloads. Based between our two purpose-built clinics in Castlewellan & Downpatrick. Farm work consists of dairy, sheep, and beef caseloads as we cover all local farms in the area, small percentage of equine work is also available as well as working on orthopaedics and dentals as well as all your usual SA cases. We also offer a 24-hour emergency service so gives you exposure to ECC cases.
Rota
Working 40 plus hours per week – (we can consider part time and job share)
1:9 Out of hours rota working alongside 9 other vets

From £29,000 negotiable D.O.E
About the team
Our team of 13 vets and 8 nurses based across our 2 modern purpose-built surgeries in the beautiful foothills of the Mourne Mountains and all our vets are encouraged to participate and develop in all areas of farm and domestic animal work.
The practice stretches across a fantastic scenic area from Strangford Lough up to Slieve Donard with a wide range of spot clubs, leisure centres, horse-race course, golf courses etc within the catchment.
Our surgery facilities include all the usual: in-house labs, digital x-ray, ultrasound ECG and full orthopaedic equipment.
Candidate Requirements
Must be qualified vet surgeon ideally with experience as a mixed vet but we can consider new graduates as full support and training will be given. Must be RCVS registered, company van will be provided so must have full driving licence. Accommodation is available. CPD and further certification is supported.
