The Role

We have an excellent opportunity for a Clinical Director or a Senior Veterinary Surgeon looking to progress into a Clinical Director role here
at Copeland Vets, Ingleby Barwick.

Day to day duties in the main include overseeing the general running of the Practice. Management duties will involve working in tandem with the Practice Manager and Business Support Manager along with a substan-tial amount of clinical work time operating and consulting. The outgoing Clinical Directors performed many advanced orthopaedic and soft tissue surgeries and for someone with an interest in surgery this would be a great opportunity. Mentoring and coaching of less experienced Veterinary Surgeons is an important part of the role and something you must be willing to embrace.

About Us

At Copeland Vets we are a single site well-equipped family friendly practice who love learning and teaching. Penny and Derek Copeland designed the practice back in 1999 and we are still very proud of how it looks and functions. We were lucky enough to be nominated and win the Veterinary Business Journal award for practice design of the year, beating practices from all over the country. Sharing all our knowledge is something we love to do, your opinion and input matters to us. We say our practice is like a patchwork quilt, everyone has a piece to bring to create the full picture, from the cleaner to receptionists to the Practice Manager to you, everyone has importance and value of different shapes and sizes. We live and breathe by our unique team approach, and we thrive with that ethos.

About the Team

Large numbers of our clients have been registered with us for many years and these long-term relationships are key to our success and always remain important to us, we truly believe in a cradle to grave relationship with our clients. Currently we are a 6 vet practice supported by a dedicated reception team and 10 RVN’s.

Applicant Requirements

We are hoping to welcome a Veterinary Surgeon to our team with great clinical and personable skills who is ideally a keen and skilled surgeon happy to carry out more advanced procedures at the Practice and oversee the surgical side on daily basis. Ideally you would have had some management or Clinical Director experience but the role may suit an experienced Veterinary Surgeon looking to step up and learn the skills needed for a Clinical Director position. We have available enrolment on the IVC Evidensia Leadership Development Programme if this would be advantageous.

Team management experience would be desirable along with a good amount of problem-solving common sense!

We are a busy practice, and some days workflow will be challenging while other days allow more time for managing the practice and private study. We require some resilience, stamina, and energy to allow the Practice to progress and move forward.
