New Graduate, or an Experienced Vet

The George Pig Practice is looking for a new colleague, interested in pursuing a career in production animal medicine, to join its six-strong vet team. This is a dedicated division of The George Veterinary Group, a large and proudly independent veterinary practice.

Our pig farming clients are diverse, ranging from large integrated, multi-site operations through traditional family farms to smallholders. Approximately 50% of the sow herds we service are outdoors. We offer a comprehensive range of first-opinion services encompassing pig health, welfare and production, farm assurance, practical skills and training. All clinical and data analysis tools are available, including an in-house laboratory.

You will have responsibility for carrying out diagnostic investigations as well as collating and interpreting results for clients. You will be involved in farm assurance visits, production and economic discussions, as well as disease investigations and epidemiology.

You might be an enthusiastic new graduate, or an experienced vet looking for a change of direction. Relevant pig experience/background would be extremely beneficial but is not essential. We’re on the edge of the Cotswolds - a beautiful part of the country - come and join us.
