Ambitious small animal and exotics clinic in the heart of Oslo seeks client friendly, efficient and hard working British vet.

Are you the adventurous type, wanting to discover new countries and have new experiences, then you might be the vet for us.

Are you the hardworking type, but seeking a refreshing change of environment and new opportunities, then you might be the vet for us.

Are you the ambitious type, wanting to develop new skills, then you might be the vet for us.

We are open for applications from vets with at least a couple of years experience, or new-grads if you already speak Norwegian.

A bit about us: www.gamlebyendyreklinikk.no

Gamlebyen Dyreklinikk is a small clinic in the historical centre of Oslo, with walking distance to the city centre, the beach, and the woods. We are two vets and three nurses. We work with dogs and cats, with a large portion of avian patients, and some mammalian exotics. We specialize in avian medicine and surgery and small animal dentistry.

Some of our equipment: gas anaesthesia, ventilator, capnography, ultrasound, X-ray, dental X-ray, endoscopy (rigid and flexible scopes), radiosurgery unit, full dental armamentarium, full surgical soft tissue armamentarium (orthopaedics: intramedullary pinning equipment used especially for avian patients).

We offer a competitive salary, pension, and continuing education. No out of hours or weekend work. Housing and travel expenses to Norway not included.

About the city of Oslo: considered one of the best cities to live in in the world and the fastest growing city in Europe. Mild summer climate (but warmer and better weather than the UK), snow in winter, masses of summer and winter sport activities and culture, close proximity to the forest and the sea.

About language requirements: It’s an advantage that you like languages and are willing to learn, if you don’t already speak Norwegian. Most clients speak English, and in those instances where this is difficult our staff will assist you. Having said that learning Norwegian quicker rather than more slowly is a great advantage.

About immigration/work permit requirements: as long as you are a professional (for example a veterinarian), and you have a job offer in Norway, moving and living here is not a problem. Gaining a licence to practice veterinary medicine is simple and pretty much automatic if graduated from a British university.
