The Company

  • Mistev EHC is a company dedicated exclusively to Export Certification, managed by veterinarians with vast experience in the industry as regulators and on certification itself.
  • Due to business growth, the company is looking for prospective candidates to work as Export Official Veterinarians in different locations of Great Britain.
  • Mistev EHC has a unique culture focused on the individuals, encouraged to take responsibility for the actions they take, with great level of management support.

The role

  • The main purpose of this job is to provide veterinary certification of exports and support attestations of Products of Animal Origin (POAO) to EU and Non-EU Countries.

Responsibilities

  • Acquainting with EHC requirements (Export Health Certification) and NFG (Notes for Guidance) for each export (for both EU and non-EU countries) in advance and keeping updated with new requirements and/or changes.
  • Attending the export locations (slaughterhouses, cutting plants, cold stores; meat and meat products establishments, retailers) and to carry out export certification on site to the highest standard.
  • Accomplishing the best service on the market in accordance with the 10 Principles of Certification (RCVS).
  • Keeping in touch with the exporter for the eventual required amendments.
  • Be able to build rapport with the customers and their representatives.

Skills/Qualifications required and Requisites

  • Veterinary medicine degree
  • Full membership of The Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons or ability to obtain it.
  • It will be highly valued if the candidate has previous experience on export certification and official control.
  • UK or EEA citizen with right to work in the UK.

Why should you apply?

Because here you can:

  • Develop within the company and work on different areas (Auditor and Portal Vets for Imports, marketing, and commercial side). Here you can inspire, engage, innovate, and make a difference and you are valued for your inspiration, engagement, and commitment.
  • Experience a fantastic work environment. Our staff can always rely on support and guidance from management. Nevertheless, as always there is place for improvement, we encourage our people to come back to us whenever they think we could do better. So, here you can speak up and raise your concern and here you can get open and honest answers. At Mistev we are growing together.
  • Have a healthy work life balance. Our people are the greatest asset, that’s why Mistev offers highly competitive benefits with perks you can get only here.
  • Working hours: 35-40 hours per week. Occasionally, some of these hours could be home based, when the OV needs to provide follow up in different work-related situations. The team meetings (every two weeks) or training sessions every time when is required, are also considered working hours, and compensated accordingly.
  • Paid theoretical and practical training, depending on the candidate experience in export certification or any interest related to official control.
  • Annual salary reviewsbonuses on outstanding performance, are including in the written agreement. Our salary increases, and other financial incentives are facts, not only promises, not only temporary and we never take them back.
  • RCVS fees.
  • Professional Indemnity Insurance.
  • Paid CPD, OV Conference (of Improve International) attendance and online training.
  • Work commuting- although the export certification may involve a fair amount of traveling, we are trying to minimize as much as possible the commuting for our employees. It can be translated to permanent accommodation for the remote areas or locums’ engagement instead to require our veterinarian’s excessive travel.
  • Professional development. Our USP (unique selling point) is 99% clearance of the exports certified, which require continuous learning of legal certification requirements and non-certification related matters (such as export custom clearance). Therefore, is essential for our vets to be familiar with official control in food establishments. Although we value such a background very much, we do not limit ourselves and we encourage and provide to our team additional training in official control (HACCP, Food Hygiene, Risk Assessment)

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Start-up salary: £35,000.00-£38,000.00 per year depending on experience in export certification and background in official control.
