Veterinary Surgeon required at Park Issa Veterinary Hospital, Oswestry, Shropshire

The Role

We are looking for a progressive mixed vet to join us at Park Issa.

Our role consists of a mixed and varied caseload comprising of 50:50 large (Dairy, Beef & Sheep) and small animal with NO EQUINE. Working alongside an enthusiastic and young team, with experienced nurses & certificate holders.

Your week would compromise of dedicated small animal and large animal days allowing you to focus on one species and explore your interests/passions. A dedicated OOH nurse looks after in-patients and will triage the phone calls.

We encourage CPD and would happily fund further specialisation, such as a certificate.

The Rota

  • 4.5 Day Week (Monday-Friday 8:30am-5:30pm)
  • 1:5 weekend on-call rota with a long weekend the following week
  • Average of 1 night per week on call.

Park Issa is a modern veterinary hospital situated in Oswestry, an expanding market town on the Shropshire Welsh border with beautiful valleys and fantastic access to outdoor pursuits.

There are great transport links everywhere with Manchester/Birmingham & Chester within an hour of us.

We have recently refurbished the hospitalisation facilities with: Digital x-ray, endoscope, ultrasound scanner, full MMP kit, dental x-ray, idexx lab, slit lamp and tonopen.

There is a nurse onsite 24 hrs a day caring for inpatients.

Farm animal equipment includes multiple easiscan-4 ultrasound scanners, bull/ram fertility testing kit, dedicated laboratory for faecal analysis and on-site facilities for ewe caesars & calf/lamb hospitalisations.

Our team consists of:

  • 12 vets with certificate holders in small animal surgery, medicine, ophthalmology, and farm animal.
  • 8 RVNs (qualified & training) and 2 VCA’s
  • 8 members of the reception team
