Registered Veterinary Nurse required at Fair City Vets, Perth

The Role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Registered Veterinary Nurse to join us at Fair City Vets. Your role will involve all aspects of veterinary nursing, including nurse consultations, anaesthesia, patient care, supporting vets and in house laboratory work.

The Rota:

We would consider full and/or part-time applications and we are happy to discuss shifts patterns and rotas with candidates. We are open 8.30-12.30 on a Saturday - this is currently on a 1 in 4 basis. Our OOH is out-sourced; however, we do occasionally have inpatients in which case our nurses cover the night-time inpatient checks - this is not a common occurrence.

About Us

Fair City Veterinary Group is the longest established practice in Perthshire with 100 years of history. We are located in picturesque Perth, close to the High Street and the train station but right on the doorstep of beautiful countryside and city life within easy reach with Edinburgh and Glasgow nearby.

The practice has gone through some changes, we are 100% small animal in a single site, and we have recently undergone significant refurbish-ment.  We now have three consult rooms and deliver established nurse clinics. We take referrals for laser therapy and see a good varied first opinion caseload. We have all the usual equipment with separate dog and cat wards, imaging suite, prep room and theatre. We have a friendly welcoming team who are passionate about the practice and their roles. We run with four vets, have both qualified and student Veterinary Nurses, who all work together with our fabulous reception team.  We have the usual gadgets and there are opportunities to develop in different disciplines for the right candidate.

There is an ongoing and planned investment programme, and we are hoping to add dental x-ray to our suite of diagnostics in the near future. Our out of hours is delegated to Vets Now.

Applicant Requirements

We are looking for a motivated, Registered Veterinary Nurse, who is competent in the following tasks: monitoring anaesthetics, venepunc-ture, taking/processing radiographs, performing routine lab procedures, care of hospitalised patients and nurse consultations. We would wel-come applications from both experienced or newly qualified RVN's for this position.
