The role

Bristol Veterinary School is recruiting a Veterinary Clinical Demonstrator to cover maternity leave for up to 1 year.

You will join a community of clinical teaching staff providing support for veterinary students across our various clinical sites. This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a dynamic and committed team of veterinary educationalists within the School. Ideally with some experience in veterinary (anatomic) pathology, you will work closely with our pathologists, clinicians and professional staff to facilitate clinical and practical teaching, with a primary focus on final year BVSc anatomic pathology rotations.

What will you be doing?

You will play an important role in enhancing the student experience. As a practitioner with clinical experience and a passion for teaching, you are not expected to have referral-level experience or expertise, however, you will work to support the students in their learning from a rich, diverse and challenging caseload. You will provide feedback and contribute to assessment as well as supporting the rotation teachers leading the formal university teaching rotations. As part of the clinical educational team, you will be supported to contribute to the development of teaching, assessment and research outputs in the area of veterinary education.

You may also act as a facilitator for the new Accelerated Graduate Entry Veterinary Programme, using a case-based approach to learning. You will also contribute to the development of online and case-based teaching materials and support practical teaching in our undergraduate programmes.  You may also support teaching using digital teaching tools and production of online resources for undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.

You should apply if

You are passionate about educating the next generation of vets, have experience of teaching undergraduate students in a clinical environment, are a member of the RCVS and are highly organised, with effective communication skills.
