We are currently looking for an additional small animal veterinary surgeon with at least 1-2 years relevant clinical experience to work in our new Scone practice. The practice will have been open one year in October and goes from strength to strength.

We are an independent mixed practice with branches in Kirriemuir, Blairgowrie, Forfar and Scone; Scone sits on the outskirts of the city of Perth but with instant access to leafy, rural Perthshire. We find that our vets come for the job and choose to stay for everything else that the area has to offer (we like to think we’re a great place to work too!).

We value Integrity, Community, Excellence, Happiness and Friendliness above all else. As a result, we have a settled, happy team that likes to look out for each other and provide the highest standards of care; but don’t just take our word for it, you can hear what it’s like to work at Thrums here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4-FHyqmA07o

Your main place of work would be Scone, though there may be the opportunity to help at other branches also. The Scone site was fitted just under a year ago and both staff and clients enjoy the modern, spacious feel to the practice that is equipped to run as a fully independent branch. The out-of-hours rota is fulfilled by our team of mixed vets and no OOH care is required for this role, though a share of evenings and Saturdays would be expected. The position is a full time one, though we are happy to structure the working week in a way that works for both you and the practice.

The right candidate will be rewarded with the support to pursue a career they aspire to, we try to support everyone to find their niche. The package includes a competitive salary, RCVS, VDS and society fees paid, extensive CPD allowance and 34 days holiday. Pursuit of a certificate in Advanced Practice would be encouraged if desired. We are a member of XL Vets which gives our staff access to a fantastic support network and continuing education.
