Role
Veterinary Surgeon

We are currently looking for a mixed animal veterinary surgeon with at least 1-2 years relevant clinical experience; and whilst we are looking for an all-rounder, an enthusiasm for small animals, equine or both would be highly desirable.

We are an independent mixed practice covering rural Angus and Perthshire, on the doorstep of mountains and coastline but with easy access to major towns and cities. We find that our vets come for the job and choose to stay for everything else that the area has to offer (we like to think we’re a great place to work too!).

We value Integrity, Community, Excellence, Happiness and Friendliness above all else. As a result, we have a settled, happy team that likes to look out for each other and provide the highest standards of care; but don’t just take our word for it, you can hear what it’s like to work at Thrums here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4-FHyqmA07o

The right candidate will be rewarded with the support to pursue a career they aspire to, we try to support everyone to find their niche.

The package includes a competitive salary, RCVS, VDS and society fees paid, extensive CPD allowance and 38.5 days holiday and practice vehi-cle if required. Pursuit of a certificate in Advanced Practice would be actively encouraged. Our rota is a luxurious 1 in 13 with time of in lieu. We are a member of XL Vets which gives our staff access to a fantastic support network and continuing education.

Our practice has 17 vets working across four sites, though your main place of work would be Kirriemuir. We enjoy 15 minute consults, we perform orthopaedic and laparoscopic surgery, have comprehensive in-house laboratory testing and diagnostic imaging facilities. The large animal department is equipped with everything you would expect from
a progressive mixed practice including 4 different ultrasound scanners, mobile digital X-ray, ruminant fertility testing kit, hydraulic foot-trimming crush, equine dental power float, stocks and large animal hospitalisation facilities.

Why not find out more by just giving us a quick call on 01575 572643 or to simply apply send a CV to Ed via the apply button.
