Veterinary Surgeon required at Kilbarchan Vets in Kilbarchan, Renfrewshire

The role

Every advert out there seems to be an ‘exciting’ opportunity of one sort or another doesn’t it? But let’s be honest, it’s not been a great year, so you could probably do without excitement and would be really happy with a practice that simply appreciates you for the immense effort you put into your work?

Somewhere that you can have the space and time to let your passion for gp vetting flourish?

Our rota will allow you plenty of time to keep up with the lockdown hobbies you’ve started:

  • 4 days per week
  • No OOH’s
  • Only 1 in 4 Saturdays
  • AND we are open to full and part time applications!

About us

Our location:

Kilbarchan’s a leafy, pretty village – a lovely community with beautiful places to walk a dog … (If you have one of your own, you’re welcome to bring them to work with you!)

We are a short and pleasant drive from the buzz of Glasgow city centre and an equally lovely drive to the coast. It is really handy for the airport for when the planes start flying again … and the cost of living local is remarkably affordable too!

The practice itself has all the usual toys including digital ultrasound, x-ray, in-house lab and we would happily add more specialist things to
the shopping list if you have a particular skillset or interest you want to develop.

The building itself had a recent facelift – definitely a bit more we can do here, but it’s nice to have a project…

You probably have ‘I work well individually and as part of a team’ on your CV (because everyone does) - but it’s mainly the team bit we are interested in:

We have a long-standing team, who all support each other and the nurses have all been here for 7 years minimum so they know everything, can do everything and will do everything in their power to help you and each other out.

We’d be the first to admit that the last year has been ‘challenging’ but we now know what works, what doesn’t and most importantly, what we can all do together to be an even better practice in the future – so if you want your voice to be heard and the opportunity to create working conditions that are right for you, then it really is worth getting in touch so we can explain more!

Applicant requirements

We think that veterinary practice should be more flexible but what we won’t budge on is the right attitude to be part of our team! If you have the right attitude, then it really doesn’t matter to us how long you have been qualified, if you want part time / full time, want to settle down in a beautiful part of the world or know that you’ll only be able to stay for a year.

Get in touch to tell us what an amazing day at work looks like for you, and we can take things from there… or, if it’s not for you at the moment, but you know someone else who it’s may be a good match for – just pass on these details. Thank you!
